Review of Long Journey Home by Sharlene MacLaren

From the back cover: After divorcing her abusive husband, single mother Callie May is still nursing emotional scars a when handsome but brooding stanger moves into the apartment across the hall. Former church Pastor Dan Mattson may be attractive, but his circumstances certainly aren't. He abandons his flock and turns his back on God following the tragic death of his beloved wife and baby daughter. When Callie's ex-husband shows up to wreak even more havoc in her life, Dan finds himself coming to her defense-and being forced to face his own demons in the process. Will Dan and Callie allow God to change their heart and mend their hurts so they can take another chance on love?

This is one of the best love stories I have read in a long time. Callie is not wanting to make the same mistake twice so she is putting her faith and trust only in God and Dan has turned his back on his faith. Both struggle with the same thoughts many of us have. Where is God when bad things happen? I loved this book and wished that it had been longer. This is a keeper for sure!
