Faith 'n Fiction Dream Movies

Today's Question:We've been blessed to finally start seeing some of our favorite Christian books come to life on film. So far, these have been largely low budget films, but they generally get the heart of the books across. But my question for you is...if you had an unlimited budget, what Christian fiction book would you like to see made into a film? Who would you cast in the main roles? Would you have a preference on director? Any songs you'd like to see on the soundtrack?

Oh this is a delicious question! With as much fiction that I read you would think I could pull a novel out without problem but I cannot. I love comedy and I tired of the romantic comedy that I see so often in the theaters. So for me, I don't want to watch suspense or a thriller or even an epic movie as so many of my fellow bloggers have mentioned. I would love to see some wonderful romantic comedy in the theater that didn't leave me feeling a little uncomfortable.

I would love to see either To good to be True by Trish Perry or Kissing Adrian by Siri Mitchell. Both are extremely funny and would in my oh so small opinion, be a great date movie. I mean really do we want to continue to have single couples go out on dates where the couple on screen always have sex before marriage. Wouldn't it be nice to have a love story that shows people falling in love without falling into bed first.

Kissing Adrian takes place in Paris, France and really shows the differences between American Christian values and views and those of the French. I would love to hear the french music playing in the background. The humor that Siri weaves into this novel is wonderful. Although the book is out of print it can still be found.

Too Good to Be True has wonderful characters that appear in three of Trish's novels so there could be a series. The novel reminds me a lot of My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the way the family gets involved with the two main characters.

What I think is so great about the novels is that they both could openly appeal to the larger audience. Neither are "preachy" and are really fun with a wonderful message.
Tonight my husband and I are finally going to see Fire Proof so we will get to see something on the silver screen that does reflect our faith on our date night!

I love Kissing Adrian and you're right...that book has fantastic romantic tension without the premarital sex. Great choice!

I think a romantic comedy would be fantastic, too! You have a great point about dating couples going to see a movie where the characters have premarital sex. Talk about mixed signals!

I so love the chick flicks and comedies. Yep, I'd go watch those!

That would be really neat to see a romantic comedy without the premarital sex. I haven't read Kissing Adrian, but I have read other Siri Mitchell books and enjoyed them.
