Beds, babies and dogs

Okay, just a few days ago I blogged about wanting to move my daughter out of our bed and into her own. She is five and it has been a struggle. We finally put our foot down and told her she had to sleep in her own bed. After many tears and a few minutes of tantrums but after awhile she was quiet. We thought she had fallen asleep in her bed turns out she didn't. She was cuddled up next to Foxy on the dog bed. The good news is she was out of our bed but we are still working on getting her into her bed.

It's amazing how children get attached to where they sleep. When our 13-yr-old wanted to sleep in our walk-out basement, it only lasted a night. It was too scary for him. ( He managed when he turned 16.) I'm assuming she's afraid to sleep alone. She's always felt a comfort of someone close. Yes, she needs to, but it will definitely take time determination on your part. Can certainly empathize.

Well, you got a cute picture and a great story to share when she's older out of the deal! :) With perseverance, this too shall pass.

Blessings on your transition.

I know she won't sleep for us forever and we will be sure to bring this up when she starts dating. :0)
