Review of Nancy Drew

If you are looking for a great family movie, check out the Nancy Drew movie. It was wonderful. Every Friday night we have movie night with out children. Most of the movies make me blush and cringe from dialogue to the implied content so it is wonderful to find a movie that does not lean toward these trends. There are a few words but not enough to detract from the story. Nancy Drew kept the entire family intrigued and I am sure we will be watching it again and again. That is the true mark of a good movie.

Horton Hears a Who

Horton Hears a Who is a true delight and the producers and directors certainly got it right!!

Horton Hears a Who takes place on the fifteenth of may in the jungle of Nool when Horton hears a voice from a small speck of dust. Unknown to him, the dust actually contains another universe and the voices he hears are the microscopic citizens of Whoville. Even though he cannot see them Horton tenderly carries the dust particle resting on top of a clover to safety despite the outrage of his community and many obstacles place in his way.

I loved the animation which stayed true to the whimsical world of Seuss. Jim Carey did a great job of just giving a voice to Horton and leaving the wonderful pachyderm to be the star of the movie. While the book is not long enough to make a feature film out of the directors did an excellent job of taking the audience along Horton's quest of honesty, integrity and most assuredly determination. The movie brought to life the true values we want to instill in our children to stand up for what they believe no matter the pressure from others. This movie did so beautifully and is truly a family film that parents can fill comfortable taking their children to see. The movie delighted my three children ranging from ages 4 to 12.
