Margaret Daley is an award winning, multi-published author in the romance genre. In 2008 she placed second in the Short Contemporary category for the Book of the Year Contest for Heart of the Family. She wrote for various secular publishers before the Lord led her to the Christian romance market. She currently writes inspirational romance and romantic suspense books for the Steeple Hill Love Inspired lines. She has sold sixty-four books to date.
Here's a little about Poisoned Secrets, her new novel.
Poisoned Secrets, March 2009, Love Inspired Suspense
Maggie Ridgeway has spent years searching for her birth mother. And now, thanks to an anonymous tip, she's finally found her. Taking the apartment across the hall from her mother's family, Maggie is determined not to leave until she gets some questions answered. Who is her father? Why did her parents abandon her? And what item in her new apartment is provoking multiple burglaries? After an interrupted break-in leaves Maggie unconscious, the building's owner, Kane McDowell, promises to protect her. But then he learns who she really is. When the past is unveiled, the shocking disclosures could tear Maggie and Kane apart.
Margaret Daley has offered to give away a copy of her novel. If you would like to win a copy of this be sure to follow the directions at the end of this post. I will be picking a winner on March 20th.
Let's get to know Margaret a little better.
Who is the most important influence in your life besides God?
My mother was a wonderful example of a woman who cared about others. She gave so much of herself and loved the Lord.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
All the waiting you have to do in this business. I have so many stories I want to write and it takes time to do them.
I know what you mean. It is a business that doesn't rush.
What are you working on next?
I am working on a Christmas novella for this December. I will be with Debby Giusti in Christmas Peril, a Love Inspired Suspense. My story will be titled Merry Mayhem. It takes place in Christmas, Oklahoma where things aren’t what they appear to be.
If your book was being discussed at a book club what do you think the focus on the discussion would be?
Probably about keeping secrets and what happens when they come out—because they usually come out.
What are your pet peeves in the writing industry?
Rules are not ironclad. They are guidelines and can be broken. I do think you need to know the rules, but that doesn’t mean you can’t break them when needed.
That is wonderful to know from an unpublished author.
What do you want your readers to take away from your novel?
To trust in the Lord and have hope. He is with us. Also another big theme I often write about is forgiveness. It isn’t easy, but it sure makes life easier in the long ran for everyone when we can forgive others and, for that matter, ourselves.
What do you find most rewarding about writing?
Telling a good story that entertains others. I love putting a story together—like a big puzzle that the pieces only fit one way. Boy, when I finish and it all fits together, that’s the best feeling.

Darby pointed out that I didn't have a "silly question" so here it is:
If you could invite a past historical figure to lunch who would you invite? Why?
I would invite Jane Austen and. I love her writing and wouldn't it just be so cool to sit and chat with her. I would love to hear everything she had to say about writing and her life.
Be sure to answer the question to enter the contest.

Okay, Silly question...I would ask Amelia Earhart where she landed and why she didn't want the rest of us to know....was the stress to high so she felt the need to escape societies pressures?
Thanks!

Darby,
I thought about Amelia too. I have always wondered what happened
I LOVE Margaret Daley, she is awesome. Sixty-four books! Man! That is a lot of writing! Okay. If I were to have lunch with a historical figure, who would I pick? Anne Boleyn. I totally want to know the real deal about this woman. Was she as devious as she is portrayed in most books? What WAS her story. She totally intrigues me. :)
Thanks for another great giveaway!

This sounds like a great book. I would love to enter. My answer to the stupid question...Abraham Lincoln. Why not? He seems like such an intelligent man whose life was tragically cut short. I would like to find out what other ideas he had for his time.
This sounds like a great book. If I could pick a person in history to have lunch with it would be Mother Theresa. She was such an amazing person.
